John Milne

When John A. Milne BA(Hons)., MBPsS., Cert.F.Ed., ADI became involved in driver training and road safety following earlier experience in industrial safety, his mission statement was "to provide friendly and approachable driver training that prepares clients for success with their driving and also to equip them for a lifetime of enjoyable and safe driving experiences".

John, in his role as a specialist in driving psychology has made contributions to the European Union CIECA project for advanced driver training and development, and has prepared academic papers on driver attitude and behaviour, cognitive behavioural training for drivers, driving risk assessments, visual acuity and driving, driving for the elderly and behavioural aspects of driving. He is currently involved in post-graduate research into social and cultural beliefs as a predictor of driver behaviour at the University of Chester. John, as well being a fully qualified ADI for car and fleet training, is also an accredited trainer and assessor for Merseyside, Cheshire, and Greater Manchester Constabulary traffic offender programmes, Motability, SaFED eco-driving schemes and MiDAS mini-bus training courses.

We offer a range of cost effective services from beginners through to defensive, and eco-safe driver training for individuals and corporate clients. Fleet training for company drivers, skid control training (in conjunction with Staffordshire Police), speed awareness courses, driver profiling, professional witness statements for court proceedings, and refresher courses for all ages and abilities including senior drivers, and UK familiarisation courses. We also provide HSE compliant driving assessments, psychological profiling, driving 'stress/frustration' management, coping with driving 'phobias and anxieties', post accident/incident analysis, and 'saving your licence' driving assessments.

Working within the ethical framework of the Driving Standards Agency, British Psychological Society and Motor Schools Association of Great Britain 'Codes of Practice'; we are aware of the personal, cultural, and ethical dimensions of training interventions and how these may impact on the multifaceted needs of our clients.
